Legal at Degen isn't a gatekeeping function — it's a strategic partner. You'll work directly with the founders to navigate the frontier of AI law, protect the company, and enable us to move fast without unnecessary risk.

About the role

You'll be Degen's first legal hire — building our legal function from scratch and navigating the complex landscape of AI, IP, content, and privacy law as we scale.

Responsibilities

• Advise on AI-related legal risk, IP, and content policy.
• Manage contracts, employment matters, and corporate governance.
• Build and oversee Degen's privacy and compliance program.
• Support fundraising, partnerships, and M&A activities.
• Hire and manage outside counsel as needed.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of legal experience, preferably in tech or AI.
• J.D. and active bar membership.
• Experience at a startup or high-growth tech company.
• Deep understanding of AI, content moderation, and platform liability.

Compensation

$220K – $280K + Offers Equity • Multiple Ranges
